332 Express V8, Mile-o-matic 2-speed transmission, 2.91:1 axle ratio
Edsel number
703492 manufactured in Louisville, KY on October 24, 1958
Owner:
Gabor Simon
I have found some documentation in the glovebox. Registration forms
from 1977 and 1978 that show mileage at around 93000, so the car ran 6400 miles
in the last 27 years. There were many invoices and sheets from 1993-1997
when the owner spent $2300 on rebuilding the ignition, adding new gaskets,
new tires, hoses and vacuum lines. Both of these document packages come
from Indiana. Another invoice about a new battery from Sears dated 1970 has
been issued in Ohio. I have bought the car on ebay from a guy in Florida.
I drove the car to our annual U.S. car meeting last weekend and it
performed very well on the parade as well. Sometimes starting is hard, maybe the
carb needs to be rebuilt.
Here are some more pictures I took at the container terminal: (Submitted by Doug Harley)

Notes:
The car departed last week to Hungary and I just had a couple of days to
check everything on it. There's a not-too-professional paint job on it similar to the
original color but the doors, pillars and interior are the original redwood.
Interior condition is better than I expected: upholstery is intact except for driver
seat. Door panels and headliner all fine. Carpet is not complete. Original
trunk bed cover and side boards, the factory jack and spare tire are still there. There
is bad rust on the lower door edges and the bottom of the B-pillar, otherwise quite good.
