Notes:
This is a car that I picked up sight-unseen. The seller said that
it was rust-free and he was partially right. When I picked it up, the car had
deep surface rust over most of the body that would require a great deal of
sanding to remove. Also the car was parked for 10 - 20 years with the windows
down, so the interior was trashed. But on the other hand, it did not run. In
other words, it was hopeless. I sold some parts from the car and finally
trailered it to a guy in Indiana who may use it for parts or may restore it. I
hated to dump the car because of the low VIN number and the underneath was
totally original. But you MUST be practical when fixing up these cars and not
spend yourself into a big hole that you can't recover from (e-mail me and I
will confess how much I have spent on restoring the 1957 Ford and 1965
Mustang). I purchased another 1959 Ranger (see VIN C9UF729995)
and am a happy Edsel owner.
