361cid E-400 V8, column automatic transmission, 2.91:1 axle ratio
Edsel number
730189 manufactured in Louisville, KY on May 2, 1958
Owner:
unknown (online auction car)
Among the many features, the interior from the factory was a 1958 Ford Fairlane's, which is why
the data plate code on this car has been left blank. It was fitted with heavy duty rear leaf springs
and had a Leece-Neville alternator under the hood rather than a generator. There had been several
holes filled in on this car such as for spot lights on the A-pillars and there were mounting holes in
the trunk for the two-way radio. Most telling is the column automatic transmission, an option not
available after January 1, 1958 on the Edsel, except for fleet (like police car) orders.
