Notes:
A very solid '58 Edsel Ranger. The body is in really good shape with only minor
rust in a few places. I purchased the car two years ago in Houston from a gentleman
who had a whole warehouse of classic vehicles. He was tired of holding on to them so
he sold them all. According to him I am the third owner.
The engine is a 312 cubic inch out of a '57 T-Bird. It runs very strong. I
have replaced the carb and the battery. The car comes with a brand new set of Crager
SS rims and brand new tires. I have purchased the following items but was waiting till
after the new paint to put them on: gas tank, door handles, dash trim, rocker panels, and
chrome valve covers. I am in the process of stripping the paint and priming it. The
passenger side is nearly completed. The interior is in excellent shape. It looks
like it was redone within the last few years. I put air shocks on it last fall. I
used to drive the Edsel around the block almost every weekend until I started stripping. Now
I start it twice a month just to let the engine run. It does leak transmission fluid but
not too bad. The transmission shifts very smoothly. I replaced the master cylinder
and all of the wheel cylinders. The driver's window was cracked when I bought the car. I
had the glass replaced but it hasn't been put back in yet. It won't take much to complete
this classic and get her back on the road.
