352 Express V8, Dual-power 3-speed transmission, 2.91:1 axle ratio
Edsel number
701456 manufactured in Louisville, KY on October 6, 1959
Owner:
J.B. Stevens
The car was bought new by the Greenbrier Insurance Co., Lewisburg, WV, on Nov. 21,
1959. It was in their possession until sometime in the early 80's where the
car was taken to Virginia Beach to a car auction. (I do have a trip ticket where
the car was taken there, but I have misplaced it temporarily). According to
Tom Ashton the car was bought by a dealer near him in Winchester Va., where
he aquired it, I believe to be between 1980-82. He had the car until I bought
it in 1988.
I have all the paperwork, reciepts, from the car's build to the present. Most of the
people that I know, including the Edsel club in VA and national know, this particular Edsel
is my "baby", though I have the 2-door sedan "twin" to the car, and a 59 Edsel as well.
