Notes:
Silver Auction results, as reported in Special Interest Auto magazine, January 19, 2009:
"California black license plate wearing current tabs. Period aftermarket rear-mounted air
conditioning, spot lights, "Necker's Knob" on the steering wheel and hula girl on the rear parcel
shelf. Older repaint, when it also acquired the black accents (it was originally an
all-copper car) with some light nicks and scrapes. There is also some overspray on the door
seals. Older bumper rechroming, now with light pitting. Non-stock dual exhaust system
featuring aftermarket chrome outlets at the corners of the back bumper. While the door panels
are the original copper vinyl in good shape, the seats have been reupholstered with modern tan
cloth in lieu of copper vinyl. The original carpeting is rather faded, soiled, and worn. A
set of three afternarket guages is mounted beneath the left corner of the dashboard, with the air
conditioning controls to the right of the steering column - with some haphazard modern wiring
dangling beneath it. Heavily yellowed and crazed plastic outlets for the AC in the rear panel
shelf. Overall condition 3-, bid to $8500 not sold. After crossing the block, the car
wore signage indicating that $9500 would take it home. For a while, Edsel seemed to be on the
fast track up in pricing, but in recent years have cooled a bit, and if this is any indication,
they're sliding back along with everything else."
