"E-475" 410cid 345bhp V8, Teletouch automatic transmission, 2.91:1 axle ratio
Edsel number
700014 manufactured in Los Angeles, CA on August 16, 1957
Owner:
unknown (online auction car)
The car is still mostly in original condition. It lived most of it's life in
southern California in a garage so the body is in excellent shape. The body
has a few small dents and a couple of small surface rust spots, but there
are no rust holes or structural rust spots. The car still has the original
paint job. The original owner took the engine out in 1973 to freshen it up,
but health problems prevented him from putting it back together. I bought the
car in 1999 with the engine in pieces, and I put everything back in it new. So
the engine has less than 200 miles on it. The trans was also overhauled at the
same time. The drive train is in wonderful condition and would not need anything
but maybe a little paint.
The interior is the worst part of the car. The seat covers are really showing
their age and would need to be replaced. The carpet is missing. The original
radio is still there, but I couldn't get it to work. The A/C on the car works great
and has been retrofitted to R-134A.
