361cid E-400 V8, Teletouch automatic transmission, 2.91:1 axle ratio
Edsel number
704426 manufactured in Mahwah, NJ on August 30, 1957
Owner:
Benjamin Scovil
On a scale of 1-10, 10 being highest, the originality of this car is a 10. This Edsel
could be owned by the world's youngest Edsel owner, myself being 15, and paying all $2225 for
the car with my own money from my lawn care business. I couldn't have found a better
original car or a better original owner to buy it from. I have found my dream car, with
only one owner prior to myself, and the car will eventually be restored to 100% factory
condition. I will plan on getting most of my parts from Hugh Lesley, as he is only an
hour and 15 minutes away from me.

Notes:
This Mahwah-built Edsel was purchased on eBay, in a second-chance offer from the original
family owner. Always garage kept. The car was bought new by the former owner's
grandfather, passed to his father in 1981, and then to him in 1984. The car is entirely
factory original, including paint, except for the tires and the exhaust. The interior,
except carpet, currently is perfect, including the seats and padded dashboard that are still
like new with no splits, rips, discoloration or flaws. The car was last registered in
January 1973 by original owner Robert C. Green, with 52,780 miles, and then put in storage 20
miles afterward at 52,800 miles flat. The car has been in storage ever since. The
car is 99.9% rust-free, extremely rare for a Mahwah-built Edsel. The passengers side
fender and edge of rear quarter panel are slightly bent, but nothing major. When the car
is registered and put back on the road, former owner Robert Green Jr. will come and visit me
to take a look at it, which means a lot to me.

Inherited it when father passed in 1981, then passed it on to my son in 1984. Took it
on his honeymoon, when new, and is still married to the lucky lady today. A little
