The Edsel Division toned down the grillework, introduced some fuel effieciency and dropped many of the complex systems for the 1959 model year, in an effort to generate some decent sales figures. 'Didn't help.

Bob Maison took this photo of his Dad's convertible at the 1963 Stokes State Forest in New Jersey. "My Dad loved this car and I loved to drive it and show it off." The car was sold after his Dad passed away in 1965. Maybe it's still out there somewhere?

There's an autumn tradition at Dan Crossman's place, and that's taking a few pictures of the cars as they're made ready for winter. Here's good old 'Eddie', still looking decent 10 years after his second restoration. Check out those dog dish hub caps.
Booger, Dan's usually but not always reliable '59 Villager.
Booger is a daily driver. The original 332 was replaced with a 352 out of a '63 Galaxie. It has a stick and is a blast to drive.
On 10/13 we had a gathering at Chuck Durphy's in Boston, NY. Kevin Rawson brought his Villager.

This is a white '59 Villager nine-passenger wagon that was in a used car lot in Cincinnati for $1000 back in 1978. The car was in near mint condition and had rocker mouldings, which is very uncommon on a Villager, as well as stainless skirts.
It was already sold when David Fleisher found the car, so this is one that got away.
While cruising down River Road in an old section of Cincinnati, David ran across a nice green Villager nine-passenger wagon still owned by the original owner as of 1977. That's him pictured with car.
The owner of the green Villager also had a nine-passenger Villager sitting at his garage at the bottom of the hill.
