EDSEL PRICE GUIDE

Current prices (in US dollars) are compiled from "The 2009 Collector Car Price Guide", "Old Cars Weekly" as well as actual prices from Edsel Owners.  This should be used as a guide only - An Edsel is worth only as much as someone is willing to pay for it.

Class 1 is a 100-point show car, and prices will not be included because at this level of perfection, each car can fetch an individual amount.
Class 2 is a winning show car, in all-around excellent condition.
Class 3 is a car that could enter a show, running smoothly with very little evidence of wear.
Class 4 is a driver car that runs and drives well but is in need of cosmetic repair.
(Class 4 can also include non-running/long-term-storage cars that don't need a lot of work.)
Class 5 is barely running and in need of serious repair - a step up from parts car.
Class 6 is a parts car, rusted/damaged beyond repair, but with many usable pieces.

An asterisk indicates that this model is considered a "collectable" car, if equipped with a V8 engine.
Deduct 8% for 1959's & 1960's with 6-cylinders, add 15% for 1960's with deluxe interiors.

Edsel Price Trend Analysis

2009 Overall:
Despite predictions of gloomy economic times, Edsel values are up across the board.  There were no value decreases for any Edsel in any condition over last year's prices.  The least amount of increase, about 3-5%, was on the 1958 and 1960 convertibles.  These cars had exceptionally big increases last year (28-47%), so it looks like this is just a normal market correction.  All other Edsels averaged a 12% value gain over the 2008 price guides.  This year's largest increases went to the 1959 Corsair 4-door sedan, in Conditions 2 and 3, at 24.6% and 24.7% respectively.
