1976 EOC Eastern Regional; Oriskany,
NY. This car was owned by Jack Easterbrook at the
time... |
 |
... and here she is today, now owned
by Kevin Rogler of Scituate, RI. The car has
changed a bit during the last 25 years; wide
whites, spinners, red roof and scallop, and the
luggage rack has been removed. The red looks
nice! |

There's an autumn tradition at Dan Crossman's
place, and that's taking a few pictures of the
cars as they're made ready for winter. That's the
tri-tone Pacer hardtop with the Roundup in the
foreground. The Pacer is the finest running car
I've ever owned thanks to the four grand I dumped
into the engine and transmission. |
 |
Here's the Roundup again. She got a
tune-up and a new accelerator pump today. What a
difference that made. |
 |
Same car from a lower elevation. You
can see dog dish hub caps on this car too. |
 |
Still looks good despite the
thousands of miles driven since restoration. |
 |
Look at all the delete stuff on this
car! |
 |
Driver's side view of interior.
Those maintenance stickers on the door are
original, fifties & sixties vintage. |
 |
Three delete bezels! That's an
aftermarket oil pressure gauge underneath. |
 |
Three people could sleep back here. |

Bruce Waymire sent this nice pencil
sketch he made of his Roundup. |
 |
Here's Bruce's Roundup as seen right
around the time he bought it from Randy Rarick. |

Roundup script on Bruce's car |
 |
This shot was taken quite some time
later. Bruce is in the process of sprucing up the
car. |
 |
Looks like he's taking off the front
fenders. |
 |
Yup. |
 |
Little sanding on the roof. |
 |
And a little more. |
 |
Front fenders back on. |
 |
The car is really starting to take
shape. |
 |
Cleaning off the engine block. |
 |
Ditto. |
 |
Rebuilding. |
 |
Whoa! Looks like new! |
 |
Not bad. |
 |
Back in! |

The Roundup drove down to Corning
to visit the International Thunderbird Club's
national meet. It created quite a sensation among
the Ford fans. This was before we left. |
 |
In '58, New York State issued
SUBURBAN license plates for station wagons. This
may have been the last year for that, but I don't
really know. |

Profile of the Roundup. |

 |
Jere Gauss' daily driver from around 1983
to 1989 in Long Beach, CA. This originally white with red top &
scallop Roundup is one of the last 1958's to be produced, with
a production schedule date of August 26, 1958. The car is
seen here at a 1986 Anaheim meet. |

Dan Crossman's Roundup before, during &
after restoration
First get a perfectly good '58
Roundup |
 |
Spend a week doing this to it |
 |
Yipes! |
 |
What have I done?! |
 |
Dave Anstett, Paul Hendricks, body
& paint |
 |
Now to put it all back together |
 |
But will it run?! |

Two years later... |
